Lonely Night

The lonely night seeks the lonely people for comfort. The shadows cast by the stars form shade over the lonely, the people hunched over street corners, the people alone next to buildings and the rails of the train station. The absence of light cuddles with them, strokes their feet until they walk away and move under a cold neon glow of an unfamiliar street sign. And there, they are lonely once more. Once more, they hunch; once more, they cough and weeze and break silently into particles. Once more, the night retreats.
